Congratulations to Melanie Burkhardt on receiving the Elsie Harwood Award this year.

Melanie's Masters thesis: "The Relationship between Androgens, apolipoprotein E Epsilon 4 Status and Cognitive Functioning in Elderly Men with and without Alzheimer's Dementia" was judged the best honours or masters level thesis on an ageing topic this year.

Melanie has now been invited to present her work at the first Psychology and Ageing Interest Group conference in Geelong, Victoria on 4th-5th November, 2005.

The value of the Elsie Harwood Award is $500 plus the cost of student registration at the conference.
