School leaver full time student
Minors in Organisational and Social Psychology.
My background and commitments
I completed high school last year, live at home with my parents and study full time at Uni. I like to do my study on campus as much as possible. I work just one evening a week to supplement my allowance. I spend a lot of time with my friends both studying and partying and love the University life.
My goals
I'm interested in how big organizations operate and want to work within one.
My study choice
I plan to start with the Bachelor of Psychology and take minors in both Organisational and Social Psychology.
I have chosen two Sociology units and one in Management to gain a broader understanding of society and the business environment.
If I do well, I may go on to further study.

School leaver part time student
Single minor in Social Psychology
My background and commitments
I finished high school last year and I am living in a shared house. I work 14 - 20 hours a week and study part time so I'm juggling work and contact time at Uni. I do a lot of my study at home to cut down on travelling time.
My goals
I want to take advantage of the broad range of subjects available at Murdoch to learn about different disciplines. I would like to work in the community.
My study choice
I have used the elective choices to take the minor in Social Psychology and to dip into Law, Community Development and Business to give me an overview of how the world works.
To give me time to work part time and get used to university I will study six units in my first year. I will try to do six units a year in later years but less paid work.

Mature-age part time student, part time worker
Minors in Developmental and Health Psychology
My background and commitments
I'm a part time youth worker though I trained as a teacher. I'm married with no children. My wife is also studying. I enjoy playing several sports which I fit into my leisure time along with umpiring junior hockey.
My goals
I decided to use my teaching degree and add a Bachelor of Psychology with the long term goal of becoming an educational psychologist.
My study choice
Because I have a degree in Education, I sought exemptions from the foundation unit and the three electives in Part 1 (first year). By taking two units each semester in first year, I can complete Part 1 in a year. That will give me an idea of how to manage the more demanding Part Two units. I may only do one or two per semester, so the degree will take some years to complete. I'm aiming for high marks so I can try for honours. For honours I'd take different 4th year units.
