Our Students

Our postgraduate Counselling trainees at Caladenia House are committed to providing you with a caring and supportive environment in which you can consider the life circumstances that are causing you distress.

Our trainees are a diverse group of men and women from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. At Murdoch, we encourage mature students to study Counselling so that we can build upon their previous work and life experience – our students range in age from 22 years of age to over 50 years of age. Our students have completed previous degrees in a range of human service areas such as psychology, social work, teaching, nursing, theology and business amongst others. They have returned to University to study Counselling as they feel drawn toward a profession that fosters personal wellbeing in others. Our students undergo rigorous training before undertaking their work at Caladenia House and work closely with their supervisors to provide you with the best possible care. We also encourage our students to undertake work with a Counsellor themselves as an integral part of their personal and professional development. We feel that this helps them prepare for the role of Counsellor and to understand what it is like to be a client.

We trust that you will find your time at Caladenia House to be valuable and replenishing.

CALADENIA HOUSE: A place to belong and be heard.
