A Study into the Relationship between Intrinsic and Extrinsic Motivation and Satisfaction with Pay and Benefits in Western Australia Researcher: Luke Greewood Many previous studies conducted on pay and benefits have either examined the use of monetary incentives on performance or alternatively have explored the effect of monetary incentives on job satisfaction. However, the relationship between intrinsic and extrinsic behavioural motivation and satisfaction with pay and benefits has been largely ignored in literature. The main aim of the proposed study will be to explore this relationship between intrinsic and extrinsic motivated behavior in the organizational setting and employee satisfaction with wages and salary. The key area of interest will be to determine whether intrinsically motivated individuals are more satisfied with their pay than extrinsically motivated individuals |
