RESEARCH:
Perception and memory; stress and cognitive performance (Psychopharmacology),
noise, circadian rhythms, sleep-loss and drug effects in adults and children;
ergonomics and human factors, especially in driving and Transport, and is
Conference Convenor of the Biennial International Conference: “Managing
Fatigue in Transportation”. He is Manager of the Traffic Board of
WA’s driving simulator, co-editor of Current Psychology, and on the
editorial boards of Accident Analysis and Prevention, and Transportation
Research.
ACTIVITIES:
Associate Professor Laurence Hartley carries out numerous consultancies
to WA and Federal Government organizations on occupational factors, is
a Fellow of the APS, Director of the Institute for Research into Safety
and Transport, and was Conference Convenor of the Ist International Conference
on Driver Impairment, Fatigue and Driving Simulation. He is manager of
the Traffic Board of WA’s driving simulator, co-editor of current Psychology
and editorial consultant to Accident Analysis and Prevention.
